26 Nov Autumnal Accessories & Taupe Booties

Outfit Crushes: pastel sweater – Vintage Havana, denim – Anthropologie, scarf – Anthropologie, booties – Forever 21, cross body bag – fab’rik.

Can we talk about how cold it’s gotten in Columbus all of a sudden? I feel like it was just 65 degrees the other day, but now we’re lucky to get above 45. It’s crazy! However, I’m not complaining because I love cold weather for 2 reasons. 1) A/W fashion is 100x better than S/S & 2) Cold weather means it’s about to be the most wonderful time of year☃️

Since pastels are so huge this Fall, I decided to style one of my favorite pastel purple sweaters with a chunky scarf from Anthropologie. I love this scarf with any outfit because of its neutral grey color and pop of sequins. I finished the look with some cropped denim with a frayed hem and some taupe booties because they go with anything & everything. Layering sweaters with chunky scarves is my favorite thing to do during Autumn and Winter! If you hate being frozen like me, then invest in a good blanket scarf this season.

I also wanted to give a shout out to this olive green cross body bag. It is faux leather (so right up my ally), but the details on this bag make it look so much more expensive than it really is. I also love the color because green is one of those colors that can be worn as a neutral and also for any season / outfit. It’s also a pretty good size for all my necessities. I’ll leave a few links below with some bags that are an OC for me this season.

Who’s getting excited for Christmas?!

25 Nov Colder Weather & Fur Vests

Outfit Crushes: fur vest- fab’rik style, striped shirt- Evereve, denim- Flying Monkey, boots- Sperry

HAPPY BLACK FRIDAY EVERYONE (THE happiest day on Earth for shopaholics like me)! I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving filled with lots of stuffing and pumpkin pie.

As the winter season is coming on, Mel and I are obsessing over everything fur (faux of course). We have both picked up a few faux fur vests and are obsessing over them. Check out some of the reasons why we think they’re a necessity to add to your wardrobe:

  1. The most obvious reason— They’re chic, feminine, and absolutely adorable
  2. They’re perfect for transitioning from fall to winter. You can wear a vest during autumn when it’s too nice outside to wear a jacket but you want a little bit of extra warmth and you can also wear one in the winter under a big coat to add an extra layer.
  3. They can dress up a casual outfit without any extra effort

If you love pink as much as I do, you can get my vest for $58 here. If you’re more of a neutral girl I have attached an adorable neutral faux fur vest below.

16 Nov Chunky Scarves & Sweater Dresses

Outfit Crushes: sweater dress – fab’rik, scarf – fab’rik, shoes – Converse.

Don’t ask me why, but I have all of a sudden gotten more and more into wearing dresses. Anyone I know would tell you I am 100% a jeans girl. They’re so easy and can be worn with anything, but lately I’ve found myself gravitating towards dresses. I love this one in particular because it’s a heathered grey with a high neck and long sleeves, so it’s perfect for Fall.

I’ve been finding some gorgeous Fall dresses at the boutique that Bri and I are personal stylists at. I had never heard of fab’rik until we did a collaboration with them during the Summer time and immediately fell in love with the company. When Bri and I got offered the job as personal stylists at the Easton location, we gave a resounding “yes!” It makes you feel good when you work for such an amazing company that gives back to it’s community. Dana, the founder actually sets up boutiques for women who are less fortunate to shop for FREE. Aside from being ethically amazing, their clothes are on point too! Since fab’rik is a boutique style, there’s limited quantities of each style. Everything is so on trend and affordable, it makes it almost too easy to spend some money every time you walk in. I will leave links to their website and the Easton locations Instagram if you would like to take a peek at what they’re about 🙂

Columbus has been starting to get pretty cold lately, so I also threw on a black and white plaid scarf to add some extra warmth. Blanket scarves are my fav because of all the different ways you can wear them. This particular one is black and white (of course, are you surprised?) so it can be worn with anything! You could keep it neutral like I did, or style it with a more colorful shirt. I finished the look with a pair of all white Converse to stay comfortable and casual. Direct links to everything are below.

15 Nov Leather Leggings & Layering Pieces

Outfit Crushes: booties, maroon leather leggings, fur vest, white layering long sleeve, & scarf- fab’rik style

brifur2Hey babes, I hope you are having a wonderful week so far! Just in case you haven’t been reading all of our previous posts, I’ll fill you in a little bit. Mel & I have been working as personal stylists together at a Columbus boutique called fab’rik, a franchise based out of Atlanta with 42 national locations but only one in Ohio. We stand behind the entire concept of the store and have been absolutely LOVING working there, so we wanted to each share an entire fab’rik outfit we put together (stay tuned for Mel’s coming up next!).

First of all, if you don’t have a pair of leather leggings you NEED one or two or three or four. They’re amazing. I highly recommend these ones in particular because they’re a little bit different in quality. The leggings I’m wearing are called “spanx” and have a leather appearance but don’t actually feel like leather. The material is actually very comfortable and doesn’t “pull” the way most leather looking leggings do. These leggings also tend to shape the legs very well and hide most leg flaws. I’ve rarely had customers put this style in particular back after trying them on in the dressing room. I am featuring the maroon ones this time, but I have the same pair in black and love them just as much.

I paired these leggings with a comfy white v neck tee just long enough to cover my bum and added a fur vest over top to keep warm! I am wearing a scarf with maroon and black plaid to pull the entire outfit and shoes together. If you have trouble with layering fall outfits just pair something with a simple neutral tee and make sure you have a color balance! Try adding a necklace, scarf, purse, etc to accent what you already want to wear.

Seriously though check out this brand because it is amazing and we know you’ll love it. Everything is under $100 aside from the designer denim and the company gives back in so many different ways. Read up on fab’rik style by checking out their website here. If you’re a 614 native come in and visit us in store at the Easton Gateway- 4191 Worth Ave.  Clickable links are there for you as always below.

10 Nov Red Plaid & Cream Beanies

Outfit Crushes: plaid dress – SheIn, beanie – fab’rik at Easton.

If you’re looking for a casual, yet cute dress for this winter season, I would highly recommend checking out SheIn. They have tons of affordable styles for any occasion. I chose this red plaid one because red has been a trending color this year. I think red plaid always comes back in style around this time of year as well. The silhouette is a fit and flare babydoll. This dress runs true to size and the fabric is so soft. I decided to pair it with a cream knitted beanie to dress down the look for every day wear. Links to shop everything will be below. Happy shopping!

08 Nov Quilted Bombers & Studded Booties

Outfit Crushes: off the shoulder blouse – SheIn, jeans – fab’rik, booties – Target, quilted bomber – Anthropologie.

So I tend to wear a lot more black in the colder months and it makes me experiment with different textures a little more. When I saw these booties online from Target I think it took me a total of 30 seconds to add them to my shopping cart and buy them. I didn’t even read a single review, I just knew they would be the perfect statement piece for this Fall. Not only do they add a pop of texture to your outfit, but they are super comfortable as well. The thicker heel also makes them super easy to walk in for longer periods of time.

Since the shoes are my statement piece, I decided to keep the rest of the outfit pretty simplistic. I threw on this off the shoulder blouse from Shein, and a pair of raw hem jeans, and went out the door for the day! That’s also probably why I wear a lot of black in the colder months because of how easy it is to style.

Are these studded booties a hit or miss for you?

29 Oct Simple Layering & Suede Dresses

Outfit Crushes: suede dress – fab’rik, white t-shirt – Romwe, sunnies – fab’rik.

If you’ve tuned into my last couple blog posts, you’ll know my obsession with suede is unreal. (Faux suede of course) I have booties, leggings, flats, slip ons, hats, moto jackets, and dresses in suede because it is such a fun texture to add to your wardrobe. This faux suede dress is super versatile because it can be worn on it’s own, or layered like I have done here. You could also throw on a white or black long sleeve underneath with a scarf on top for when it gets even colder. I chose to style mine with a white t-shirt to give it an extra layer of warmth.

You can also play around with different styles of white t-shirts too. The one I’m wearing has an open back, so it can also be restyled with a cute bralette and some ripped jeans for another day. I also decided to throw on some round sunnies to feel a little more 70’s inspired. What do you guys think?

An added bonus about purchasing this dress is that it was made by ASHER which is partnering with Project 82 Kenya. With every purchase made through fab’rik’s ASHER brand, they will donate a portion to help a child in need by rescuing abandoned children and providing them with stable homes. As an aspiring Fashion Designer, I really appreciate when a brand actively gives back to their community. I’m truly amazed by fab’rik’s never ending kindness. 24 Oct Velvet Tunics & Fall Trends

Outfit Crushes: velvet tunic – Anthropologie, fringe bag – Hollister.

Can we talk about how much I’m loving the fact that velvet is a big deal this season? When I saw this velvet tunic from Anthropologie, I instantly fell in love. Added bonus? There are two pockets on the front of the dress. BAM, I know you just added it to your shopping cart.

What I love most about this dress is the shape of it. The boxy cut fits like a t-shirt dress style and the lined velvet actually makes it pretty warm for Fall weather. This dress also comes in a navy blue color, which is stunning as well. I opted for the champagne color because it was a unique addition to my wardrobe. If you’re interested in buying this dress, keep in mind it is a modest, but flattering length. Since I am under 5’3, I ordered mine in a small petite. And, if you order through Anthropologie in the Short North, you can get free shipping 🙂

My top three favorite textures to play around with during Fall are: corduroy, velvet, and suede. All three of these become pretty popular during colder months, but I feel like velvet and suede in particular have spiked popularity more in this year than they have in decades.

I have linked some of my other favorite velvet dresses below, so happy shopping!
