11 Jan Blush Tones & Casual-Cute Looks

Outfit Crushes: sweater – Old Navy, v-neck – fabrik, leggings – Athleta, sneakers – Adidas.

Are you surprised to see another blog post from me featuring mauve pinks, whites, and blacks? Me neither.

Happy New Year everyone! Bri and I are so excited to be kicking off  Y E A R  T W O  of blogging. Thank you to everyone who has been a part of the journey this past year. We have already learned so much and have many surprises for 2017, so stay tuned.

For this look, I was off to get a much needed pre-birthday mani-pedi with Bri, so I wanted to look casual, but still sorta cute. I threw on my new fav sweater from Old Navy, which is incredibly soft and super long. I paired it with a simple white v-neck, some staple black leggings from Athleta and my new sneakers from Adidas. Athleta is one of my all time favorite active wear brands because it is moderately priced and very high quality. I can always justify spending the money on leggings and tops from here because you are really getting what you pay for! I’ve had this pair for over two years now and they are still form fitting and 100% opaque. Nothing is worse than realizing your leggings are see through half way through your day… AMIRIGHT?

As for the shoes, I’m sure you’ve seen these bad boys rocked all over social media over the past 6 months and for a good reason. The Adidas Superstars are super comfy and have become really on trend. My personal favorite style is the pink suede version that I got as a gift from ASOS. Don’t worry, I will link everything below if you’re interested in purchasing any of these items.

09 Jan Over the Knee Boots & Suede Details

Outfit Crushes: sweater – fab’rik, suede dress – fab’rik, thigh high boots – Charlotte Russe

Finally got my hands on a pair of the trendiest boot of Winter ’16/17– thigh high boots. I completely understand why these boots are so hyped up now that I own a pair. They are so chic and flattering on your legs. This particular pair was on sale for $20 during the Black Friday Sale, so I got them for 1/3 their regular price. Charlotte Russe always has sales going on so you can almost always get a deal on something.

I chose to style mine with a suede dress and layered it with an oversized sweater that I seem to wear just a little too much… It’s just super over sized and very cozy! I love throwing sweaters over dresses to help transition them into colder weather. It also looks super stylish as well.

27 Dec Army Green Joggers & Comfy Sweaters

Outfit Crushes: tank – fab’rik, sweater – Nordstrom, joggers – Free People, sneakers – Converse.

As a second year fashion design student, it is necessary to be comfy ALL day. If you’re anything like me, your day starts at 9am and doesn’t end until 2am at the latest. The work load is pretty intense, but when you’re doing what you love, at the end of the day it doesn’t matter. Now that I’m finally on winter break, I have been able to hang out with family and catch up with friends. Bri and I decided to get some food and outfit shots in one of our favorite hang out spots– Uptown Westerville. They have the cutest local shops and yummy little food places. Think of it like a less busy version of Short North in Columbus.

I decided to go for a comfy/casual look today in these super soft joggers from Free People. Bri and I both snatched these babies up when we saw that they were reduced from $128 to $29.99!!! I threw on a white v-neck from fab’rik with a comfy beige sweater & finished the look with the most seen sneaker ever– white Converse. I am loving how the casual/sporty vibe is being more and more popular because it honestly does not get better than a comfy pair of joggers and a nice oversized sweater. Free People has tons of joggers and sweats currently on sale if you’re in the mood to shop. I’d also like to recommend Victoria’s Secret. Although I’m not a huge name brand girl, I can’t diss how comfortable and cozy their sleepwear is. What can I say, being cozy during winter in Columbus is top priority for me.

22 Dec Obsessing over Free People & Trying New Styles

Outfit Crushes: Tee– Free People, Jeans- Urban Outfitters, Boots- Free People

Have you ladies been into Free People lately? It’s one of my favorite stores and they have had absolutely amazing deals as it’s getting closer and closer to Christmas! When I went there last week the markdowns were an additional 30% off so I got a pair of pants for $20 (orig. $130) and these featured boots for $40 (orig. $100). If you’re like me and a last minute holiday shopper you’ll have to check out their last minute deals and hope to get as lucky as I did.

I’m loving my featured outfit for different reasons than the usual ones. I love the outfit I’m wearing today because it is a little bit out of my comfort zone with a grungier look than I usually wear. The darker colors of my shirt and boots, mixed with variations of fabric and the sort of rugged look make my outfit appear a little more edgy. The Free People brand is all about exploring your own personal style so I definitely justified my purchase that way and because of the sales of course. I think I will definitely get a lot of wear out of both items, but especially the shirt. I bought the shirt in a large so it’s super oversized which makes it perfect to pair next with leggings.

21 Dec Holiday Body Suits & Dark Wash Denim

Outfit Crushes: body suit – SheIn, jeans – Old Navy.

With the Holiday Season, comes dressing up just a tad bit more than usual and going out a lot more with your family & friends <3

When I saw this fold over grey body suit online I’m pretty sure I added it to my cart in a matter of 2.5 seconds. It is so versatile and easy to style, I couldn’t resist! If you’re going to a holiday party, you could have easily paired this with a colorful pencil skirt, some glittery jewelry, and statement heels & you’re good to go! I decided to style it down to a more casual outfit, so of course I threw on my trusty pair of dark wash jeans from Old Navy. They’re the “Rockstar Fit” so they’re great for curves and come in all different kinds of washes. I finished the look with a simple, classic pair of black booties.

I’d highly recommend trying out a body suit from SheIn because of how cheap and comfortable they are! This one in particular is on sale for under $20 right now, so grab it while you can 🙂 direct links will be below, as always.

08 Dec Warming up for Winter & Styling Long Sweaters

Outfit Crush: Sweater 1- Romwe & Sweater 2- Romwe

Brrrrr, its already snowing in Ohio! I don’t know about you, but I’m bundling up in all of my cozy sweaters. I have just recently received two from Romwe and am absolutely adoring both of them.

They’re both long sweaters, but I styled them in two different ways. Option 1 is casual cute in pink and option 2 is dressy casual in olive. I dressed down my pink sweater because of the cold-shoulder style and rips. To do so I wore distressed jeans and high top converses. I decided to dress up my olive sweater because of the classic turtleneck collar and how well I thought it would pair with tights. I added a necklace and black booties to make it a little more stylish. Both looks are pictured below with clickable links for you at the bottom as always. Stay warm and have a great weekend!

Option 1: Casual Cute

26 Nov Autumnal Accessories & Taupe Booties

Outfit Crushes: pastel sweater – Vintage Havana, denim – Anthropologie, scarf – Anthropologie, booties – Forever 21, cross body bag – fab’rik.

Can we talk about how cold it’s gotten in Columbus all of a sudden? I feel like it was just 65 degrees the other day, but now we’re lucky to get above 45. It’s crazy! However, I’m not complaining because I love cold weather for 2 reasons. 1) A/W fashion is 100x better than S/S & 2) Cold weather means it’s about to be the most wonderful time of year☃️

Since pastels are so huge this Fall, I decided to style one of my favorite pastel purple sweaters with a chunky scarf from Anthropologie. I love this scarf with any outfit because of its neutral grey color and pop of sequins. I finished the look with some cropped denim with a frayed hem and some taupe booties because they go with anything & everything. Layering sweaters with chunky scarves is my favorite thing to do during Autumn and Winter! If you hate being frozen like me, then invest in a good blanket scarf this season.

I also wanted to give a shout out to this olive green cross body bag. It is faux leather (so right up my ally), but the details on this bag make it look so much more expensive than it really is. I also love the color because green is one of those colors that can be worn as a neutral and also for any season / outfit. It’s also a pretty good size for all my necessities. I’ll leave a few links below with some bags that are an OC for me this season.

Who’s getting excited for Christmas?!

25 Nov Colder Weather & Fur Vests

Outfit Crushes: fur vest- fab’rik style, striped shirt- Evereve, denim- Flying Monkey, boots- Sperry

HAPPY BLACK FRIDAY EVERYONE (THE happiest day on Earth for shopaholics like me)! I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving filled with lots of stuffing and pumpkin pie.

As the winter season is coming on, Mel and I are obsessing over everything fur (faux of course). We have both picked up a few faux fur vests and are obsessing over them. Check out some of the reasons why we think they’re a necessity to add to your wardrobe:

  1. The most obvious reason— They’re chic, feminine, and absolutely adorable
  2. They’re perfect for transitioning from fall to winter. You can wear a vest during autumn when it’s too nice outside to wear a jacket but you want a little bit of extra warmth and you can also wear one in the winter under a big coat to add an extra layer.
  3. They can dress up a casual outfit without any extra effort

If you love pink as much as I do, you can get my vest for $58 here. If you’re more of a neutral girl I have attached an adorable neutral faux fur vest below.

16 Nov Chunky Scarves & Sweater Dresses

Outfit Crushes: sweater dress – fab’rik, scarf – fab’rik, shoes – Converse.

Don’t ask me why, but I have all of a sudden gotten more and more into wearing dresses. Anyone I know would tell you I am 100% a jeans girl. They’re so easy and can be worn with anything, but lately I’ve found myself gravitating towards dresses. I love this one in particular because it’s a heathered grey with a high neck and long sleeves, so it’s perfect for Fall.

I’ve been finding some gorgeous Fall dresses at the boutique that Bri and I are personal stylists at. I had never heard of fab’rik until we did a collaboration with them during the Summer time and immediately fell in love with the company. When Bri and I got offered the job as personal stylists at the Easton location, we gave a resounding “yes!” It makes you feel good when you work for such an amazing company that gives back to it’s community. Dana, the founder actually sets up boutiques for women who are less fortunate to shop for FREE. Aside from being ethically amazing, their clothes are on point too! Since fab’rik is a boutique style, there’s limited quantities of each style. Everything is so on trend and affordable, it makes it almost too easy to spend some money every time you walk in. I will leave links to their website and the Easton locations Instagram if you would like to take a peek at what they’re about 🙂

Columbus has been starting to get pretty cold lately, so I also threw on a black and white plaid scarf to add some extra warmth. Blanket scarves are my fav because of all the different ways you can wear them. This particular one is black and white (of course, are you surprised?) so it can be worn with anything! You could keep it neutral like I did, or style it with a more colorful shirt. I finished the look with a pair of all white Converse to stay comfortable and casual. Direct links to everything are below.

If you would ever like to make an appointment for a free personal styling consultation from Bri and I, don’t hesitate to contact us! You can always comment below or message us on Instagram ♥

15 Nov Leather Leggings & Layering Pieces

Outfit Crushes: booties, maroon leather leggings, fur vest, white layering long sleeve, & scarf- fab’rik style

brifur2Hey babes, I hope you are having a wonderful week so far! Just in case you haven’t been reading all of our previous posts, I’ll fill you in a little bit. Mel & I have been working as personal stylists together at a Columbus boutique called fab’rik, a franchise based out of Atlanta with 42 national locations but only one in Ohio. We stand behind the entire concept of the store and have been absolutely LOVING working there, so we wanted to each share an entire fab’rik outfit we put together (stay tuned for Mel’s coming up next!).

First of all, if you don’t have a pair of leather leggings you NEED one or two or three or four. They’re amazing. I highly recommend these ones in particular because they’re a little bit different in quality. The leggings I’m wearing are called “spanx” and have a leather appearance but don’t actually feel like leather. The material is actually very comfortable and doesn’t “pull” the way most leather looking leggings do. These leggings also tend to shape the legs very well and hide most leg flaws. I’ve rarely had customers put this style in particular back after trying them on in the dressing room. I am featuring the maroon ones this time, but I have the same pair in black and love them just as much.

I paired these leggings with a comfy white v neck tee just long enough to cover my bum and added a fur vest over top to keep warm! I am wearing a scarf with maroon and black plaid to pull the entire outfit and shoes together. If you have trouble with layering fall outfits just pair something with a simple neutral tee and make sure you have a color balance! Try adding a necklace, scarf, purse, etc to accent what you already want to wear.

Seriously though check out this brand because it is amazing and we know you’ll love it. Everything is under $100 aside from the designer denim and the company gives back in so many different ways. Read up on fab’rik style by checking out their website here. If you’re a 614 native come in and visit us in store at the Easton Gateway- 4191 Worth Ave.  Clickable links are there for you as always below.
