17 Jan Winter Wine Nights & Outfit Dilemmas

Outfit Crushes: glasses- Vogue, shirt- Forever 21, jacket- Rag-o-Rama, skirt- Romwe, knee highs- Buffalo Exchange, shoes- Buffalo Exchange

As some of you know, Mel and I work together as personal stylists on the weekends. One of the most common dilemmas young customers are asking us about is what to wear when going out during the winter season (in states with weather like Ohio, ugh).

It’s freezing, but it’s Wednesday and Wednesday’s are wine nights…

Of course anyone could tell you that you’ll stay warm in a few layers of pants and your biggest winter jacket, but I’m sure that’s not the look all of you are exactly going for. Here’s what I say about dressing cute with the girls and staying warm (enough..lol):

You can rock almost any type of bottoms if you make them look cute. If you want to try a fun, more casual look play around with some trendy joggers or Adidas cropped pants. Maybe even wear a beanie to complete the look.

-Layering is always an easy way to go. Wear the sexy shirt you want to wear, but pair it with an cardigan or oversized denim jacket.

-Although it’s still not the warmest option, to make skirts more weather appropriate add 1) tights or knee highs and 2) boots or booties with it. Hiding fuzzy socks under my over the knee boots is one of my favorite tricks.

Jackets don’t have to ruin an outfit! Fur coats can make the outfit statement. I found the one I’m wearing from a resale shop in C-bus for $25 and I’m always seen wearing it out.

14 Jan Styling Blazers & Anthro TAG Sale

Outfit Crushes: blazer – fab’rik, satin came – Anthropologie, denim – Just Black, pleather booties – fab’rik, velvet bag – Anthropologie, sunnies – Quay.

Hi guys! Currently curled up in my apartment hiding from the snow storm that decided to ambush Columbus, so I figured I’d write a blog post. This look is from yesterday since I’m actually in a giant sweatshirt & leggings now. I think owning a black blazer in your closet is an absolute must. It’s perfect for job interviews, work days, special occasions, or sometimes dressing even down a little like I decided to do in this look. I styled it down with some ripped black jeans and booties. It made the look very wearable, but still elevated from my usual every day cardigans and chunky sweaters.

If you haven’t had a chance to shop the Anthropologie TAG sale, I don’t know what’s wrong with you… Kidding. I stopped in the Easton location this past weekend and found a little too much stuff. I ended up leaving with 3 tops and a bag for under $50. That’s basically unheard of. They currently have an additional 40% off their current sale items. The satin cami & velvet bag I’m wearing in this photo is from the sale. I’ve linked everything below for you to check out, along with some additional sale items that I’ve been eyeing. Who else loves post holiday sales?!

27 Dec The Chenille Knit & Winter Beanies

Outfit Crushes: pink sweater – American Eagle, leggings – Athleta, boots – H&M, pom pom beanie – Old Navy

Hi guys! I feel like I haven’t done a blog post in forever– maybe because Junior year of college has been by far the most time consuming and mentally exhausting year so far. Somehow I wouldn’t trade it for anything though!

I’m currently obsessed with all things chenille knit. You know what I’m talking about- it’s those super soft sweaters with the velvety yarns used. They’re all over the market right now and I can see why. I snagged this pink balloon sleeved sweater from A&E on black friday for only $30 (steal.) It’s actually on sale now in 3 different colors for only $22 (super steal!) It did not get over 10 degrees today, so I chose to accessorize with warm essentials like these brown lace up boots and this adorable cream beanie from Old Navy. Thanks baby sis for the bomb Christmas present! I’m definitely going to be wearing this all winter long. I would definitely recommend picking up a beanie, pom pom hat, snow hat, whatever you wanna call it, this season because they’re definitely on trend. I’m sure you guys will see me styling more as the season goes on.

All items are linked below, so happy post Christmas shopping!

25 Nov Graphic Bombers & Guess Denim

Outfit Crushes: Bomber- She Inside, Jeans- Guess, Slides- Steve Madden

Hey babes, happy Saturday! Mel and I hope you all had an awesome Thanksgiving filled with family, friends, and lots of yummy food. Especially stuffing.. my favorite. We are extremely grateful for all of our readers and we thought of you a little bit extra this week.

A few days ago we previewed this black bomber on Instagram. It’s safe to say it will barely be in my closet at all this season because I can’t seem to take it off. I wore it with accents of red for the OSU game and over ten people asked me where to get it (even guys)! That being I had to give it a post on here.

This bomber is adorably oversized and is a great layering piece to throw over anything or even sweatshirts when it’s cold. I love the fact that it’s easy to throw on while adding an edgy flare to any outfit. This jacket is a statement piece for sure and it’s on sale for CRAZY cheap right now.

Check it out and go crazy with all of the sales this weekend!

29 Oct Olive Green & White Kicks

Outfit Crushes: vest – Pitaya (last season), blouse – fab’rik Easton, leggings – Athleta, sneakers – Old Navy

Happy Monday, everyone! Ok I know that’s not the best thing to hear, buuuuut I am in such a good mood! Midterms are over and the weather is finally starting to get cold. This is hands down my favorite time of year. Today it was a bit colder, so I decided to wear one of my favorite cold shoulder tops with a vest layered on top for some extra warmth. Olive green is one of the most flattering colors for all complexions. I swear it looks great on every hair color as well. If you don’t already own an olive vest / jacket, you definitely need one for this Fall!

I decided to finish the look with some comfy black leggings from my favorite athletic brand, Athleta, and some white sneakers that I’ve been wearing daily nonstop! You can pick these up for under $25 at Old Navy. They come in a bunch of other colors as well. I prefer the white because they’re easy to style with almost any outfit. Additionally, they run true to size, so I stuck with my regular size 8! Links are below.

23 Oct Shirt Layering & Urban Chic Looks. VAMP Official.

Outfit Crushes: double layered shirt- VAMP Official, purse- VAMP Official, head scarf- VAMP Official, sunnies- VAMP Official, mom jeans- Urban Outfitters (BDE), heels- fab’rik style

As you can see in the outfit credits, I’m loving VAMP as much as Mel. She’s been telling me I need to check out this boutique and I just got around to it this weekend. I was planning on going in just to check it out and ended up walking out with 5 items because they were too cute to resist! While I was in the store I got to meet the owner, Ellen, and she was so great. Right now she’s working open to close everyday.. if you stop in you’ll have to ask her the success story behind VAMP it’s pretty cool.

In this post I’m trying out the double layered shirt trend because I’ve been seeing it more and more recently. I was originally hesitant about the trend, but it sure has been growing on me. I love these two layers in particular because it allows for a somewhat conservative, but also sexy look. Sometimes lace shirts are hard to wear because you never know what to wear under them, so this is a different alternative. This shirt is a little bit short so I decided to pair it with high waisted jeans to only reveal a small amount of skin if I lift up my arms.

Columbus natives get down to the Short North to check it out!

22 Oct Button Downs & Darker Hues

Outfit Crushes: blouse – fab’rik, denim – Old Navy, sock booties – Nordstrom / Hallogen, fringe bag – Hollister

It’s starting to get chilly in Columbus & I am seriously loving it! If you know me pretty well, you’ll know that my favorite time of the year has officially started. I am always the happiest from October – February. I know it’s the opposite for many people, but I love everything about colder weather- the fashion, the holidays, the events, the time with family. I love it all!

Today’s look is what a typical early Fall day in Columbus looks like. The leaves are starting to change & everyone is bringing their sweaters and long sleeves out of hibernation. I decided on this adorable navy button down from fab’rik. The material is super comfortable and for once I found a button down that fits a larger bust!!! Ladies, you know what I’m talking about here! I decided to keep it neutral with some staple black jeans and my new fav sock booties that I managed to snag from the Nordstrom semi-annual anniversary sale. They were 50% off the regular price, so I couldn’t say no. You’ll definitely be seeing me post about these a lot this season. Links to shop are below!

07 Oct Stella & Dot x Outfit Crush (GIVEAWAY)

Outfit Crushes: Pave Ear Cuff (gold & silver) (Mel), Pave Triangle Path Ear Climber (silver) (Bri)

We haven’t featured a jewelry brand on our blog in a while now, so we figured we could spice it up & introduce you guys to our newest jewelry obsession– Stella & Dot!

We’ve definitely heard of the brand before, but never took a peek at the website until meeting a Stella & Dot stylist. Kelley is a frequent shopper at the boutique we work at & we’re constantly asking her where her jewelry is from. I swear this girl knows how to accessorize! She’s constantly rocking ear cuffs, wrap bracelets, dangley earrings, and amazing statement necklaces. We love following her daily outfit / accessory inspo on her personal account @sincerelykelley.

If you’re a long time follower of ours, you’ll know that we love earrings & stacking as much metal into our ears as we can hahaha

Bri is rocking the silver Pave Triangle Path Ear Climber & Mel has layered the gold Pave Ear Cuff with the silver Pave ear cuff.

One of our favorite features about this brand is that many of the pieces are adjustable. So for example, many of the dangle earrings allow you to detach the dangle extension and just wear it as a stud instead. The statement layered necklaces can also be detached. This is perfect for a trip where you only want to pack one necklace, but also have the option of altering it for different looks. We already have our wish list made up, so we will definitely be ordering again from our stylist, Kelley. If you are a 614 native, be sure to contact Kelley for any comments or questions you have, she’s amazing!

Check out Stella & Dot here

21 Sep Cheeky T-shirts & Denim Layers

Outfit Crushes: graphic t-shirt – Vamp / NA-KD, leggings – Lulu Lemon, sneakers – Adidas, denim jacket – SheIn

OK, so it’s definitely no secret that I’m a fan of starts and graphic t-shirts, so when I saw this cheeky combination of the two, I felt like I needed it in my wardrobe. I love the olive green color! I think it would be so flattering on so many different skin tones & complexions. I stumbled across a new boutique (Vamp) that just opened in the Short North and picked up a few goodies from them. They carry tons of my favorite brands/vendors, so I’m pretty excited to see what they start to carry for Fall/Winter. (More blog posts featuring their clothing coming soon!)

I decided to layer this t-shirt with a light wash denim jacket from SheIn. I can honestly say a denim jacket will be my go-to for this Fall. I think it’s the perfect layering piece for almost anything. You could style it with a dress, leggings, t-shirts, blouses, etc. It definitely helps to dress down any look & make it appropriate for almost anything. I love the wash on this one in particular & light was denim is definitely trending. The best part is it is on sale for under $30. Links to check it out will be below. I would definitely recommend sizing up.

I finished the look with my fav pair of leggings from Lulu & some white Adidas sneakers. As I mentioned above, all of the items in this outfit will be linked below with similar or an exact match 🙂

I can’t wait to show you guys some of the looks I come up with for Fall this year, so stay tuned!
