23 Oct Shirt Layering & Urban Chic Looks. VAMP Official.

Outfit Crushes: double layered shirt- VAMP Official, purse- VAMP Official, head scarf- VAMP Official, sunnies- VAMP Official, mom jeans- Urban Outfitters (BDE), heels- fab’rik style

As you can see in the outfit credits, I’m loving VAMP as much as Mel. She’s been telling me I need to check out this boutique and I just got around to it this weekend. I was planning on going in just to check it out and ended up walking out with 5 items because they were too cute to resist! While I was in the store I got to meet the owner, Ellen, and she was so great. Right now she’s working open to close everyday.. if you stop in you’ll have to ask her the success story behind VAMP it’s pretty cool.

In this post I’m trying out the double layered shirt trend because I’ve been seeing it more and more recently. I was originally hesitant about the trend, but it sure has been growing on me. I love these two layers in particular because it allows for a somewhat conservative, but also sexy look. Sometimes lace shirts are hard to wear because you never know what to wear under them, so this is a different alternative. This shirt is a little bit short so I decided to pair it with high waisted jeans to only reveal a small amount of skin if I lift up my arms.

Columbus natives get down to the Short North to check it out!

22 Oct Button Downs & Darker Hues

Outfit Crushes: blouse – fab’rik, denim – Old Navy, sock booties – Nordstrom / Hallogen, fringe bag – Hollister

It’s starting to get chilly in Columbus & I am seriously loving it! If you know me pretty well, you’ll know that my favorite time of the year has officially started. I am always the happiest from October – February. I know it’s the opposite for many people, but I love everything about colder weather- the fashion, the holidays, the events, the time with family. I love it all!

Today’s look is what a typical early Fall day in Columbus looks like. The leaves are starting to change & everyone is bringing their sweaters and long sleeves out of hibernation. I decided on this adorable navy button down from fab’rik. The material is super comfortable and for once I found a button down that fits a larger bust!!! Ladies, you know what I’m talking about here! I decided to keep it neutral with some staple black jeans and my new fav sock booties that I managed to snag from the Nordstrom semi-annual anniversary sale. They were 50% off the regular price, so I couldn’t say no. You’ll definitely be seeing me post about these a lot this season. Links to shop are below!

07 Oct Stella & Dot x Outfit Crush (GIVEAWAY)

Outfit Crushes: Pave Ear Cuff (gold & silver) (Mel), Pave Triangle Path Ear Climber (silver) (Bri)

We haven’t featured a jewelry brand on our blog in a while now, so we figured we could spice it up & introduce you guys to our newest jewelry obsession– Stella & Dot!

We’ve definitely heard of the brand before, but never took a peek at the website until meeting a Stella & Dot stylist. Kelley is a frequent shopper at the boutique we work at & we’re constantly asking her where her jewelry is from. I swear this girl knows how to accessorize! She’s constantly rocking ear cuffs, wrap bracelets, dangley earrings, and amazing statement necklaces. We love following her daily outfit / accessory inspo on her personal account @sincerelykelley.

If you’re a long time follower of ours, you’ll know that we love earrings & stacking as much metal into our ears as we can hahaha

Bri is rocking the silver Pave Triangle Path Ear Climber & Mel has layered the gold Pave Ear Cuff with the silver Pave ear cuff.

One of our favorite features about this brand is that many of the pieces are adjustable. So for example, many of the dangle earrings allow you to detach the dangle extension and just wear it as a stud instead. The statement layered necklaces can also be detached. This is perfect for a trip where you only want to pack one necklace, but also have the option of altering it for different looks. We already have our wish list made up, so we will definitely be ordering again from our stylist, Kelley. If you are a 614 native, be sure to contact Kelley for any comments or questions you have, she’s amazing!

Check out Stella & Dot here

Andddd now time for the giveaway…

Check out our Instagram post featuring Stella & Dot to see how to enter! Winner will be announced Friday, October 13th. Good luck!

21 Sep Cheeky T-shirts & Denim Layers

Outfit Crushes: graphic t-shirt – Vamp / NA-KD, leggings – Lulu Lemon, sneakers – Adidas, denim jacket – SheIn

OK, so it’s definitely no secret that I’m a fan of starts and graphic t-shirts, so when I saw this cheeky combination of the two, I felt like I needed it in my wardrobe. I love the olive green color! I think it would be so flattering on so many different skin tones & complexions. I stumbled across a new boutique (Vamp) that just opened in the Short North and picked up a few goodies from them. They carry tons of my favorite brands/vendors, so I’m pretty excited to see what they start to carry for Fall/Winter. (More blog posts featuring their clothing coming soon!)

I decided to layer this t-shirt with a light wash denim jacket from SheIn. I can honestly say a denim jacket will be my go-to for this Fall. I think it’s the perfect layering piece for almost anything. You could style it with a dress, leggings, t-shirts, blouses, etc. It definitely helps to dress down any look & make it appropriate for almost anything. I love the wash on this one in particular & light was denim is definitely trending. The best part is it is on sale for under $30. Links to check it out will be below. I would definitely recommend sizing up.

I finished the look with my fav pair of leggings from Lulu & some white Adidas sneakers. As I mentioned above, all of the items in this outfit will be linked below with similar or an exact match 🙂

I can’t wait to show you guys some of the looks I come up with for Fall this year, so stay tuned!

21 Sep Two Feathers x Outfit Crush

Outfit Crushes: black pajama cardigan- Two Feathers, cream lace up long sleeve- Two Feathers, striped blouse dress- Two Feathers

Happy Thursday babes! Mel & I want to share a new up & coming company with you called Two Feathers. To start you guys already know how much we love supporting domestic businesses.. & this adorable shop is based out of California. To follow up I’m going to share some of the things I love about the clothing:

-The style is chic, classic, & timeless

This bullet point pretty much speaks for itself. When checking out the company you will realize most, if not all, of the color choices are limited to neutrals. The fabric and pattern choices are classic and timeless. You’ll see blacks, whites, and grays with maybe a pin stripe, lace, or tie detailing. This is great because when you’re purchasing these higher quality items you’ll know they won’t be out of style next season.

-The pieces are staple necessities & versatile in function

As you can probably tell from the variety of outfits I chose, these pieces are extremely versatile. My favorite piece I wore probably has to be the black pajama jacket. It could be worn to almost anything from a day at work to a night out with friends.

-The quality is great

My philosophy is when spending a little bit more than what you usually would, it only makes sense when two things are true. 1) You’ll wear the pieces enough to get your money’s worth 2) The price reflects the quality. As far as this company goes, 1) check 2) check.

Do us a favor and check out this brand at www.twofeathers.co and have an amazing rest of your week!

02 Sep Navy Stripes & Distressed Denim

Outfit Crushes: denim jacket – fab’rik, striped romper – fab’rik, sunnies – F21.

I will forever & always be a sucker for stripes. No matter what color they are, they will always be one of my favorite patterns. Vertical stripes are always best for my body shape because they make me look longer, especially through the leg area, where I need the extra length! hahaha, but seriously. This adorable navy & white striped romper from fab’rik was too cute to pass up.

I know Summer is soon to be over, so I figured I’d style this one from day to night with a jacket. The distressing on this particular style helps to add a little edge to the look. I finished the look with some sneakers & as always my favorite sunnies from F21. They’re so cheap, but also so practical because I know I break/lose sunglasses way too often to invest at this time in my life. Hope everyone’s having the best back to school season yetttttttt!

10 Aug Gingham Love & Black Denim

Outfit Crushes: gingham top – SheIn, denim – Old Navy, heels – Calvin Klein, sunnies – fab’rik, bag – Hollister.

Not sure why I haven’t purchased much gingham this Summer because I’m honestly a huge fan of the print. I think it will always remain a classic and I’m so glad it’s trending this season. I love this lil top from Shein because it’s actually a crop and I think the spaghetti straps are so flattering. I would highly recommend sizing up at least one size in this top because the black lining on the inside of the shirt is rather snug for bigger busts. These black jeans are an oldie, but a goodie and I can’t recommend Old Navy denim enough. It is super stretchy and comfortable for girls with curves like me. I would recommend the Rock Star fit in your true US Women’s Size for reference. I decided to finish the look with a simple cross body bag, sunnies, and some taupe heels. I wore this outfit to the office and then for the evening with friends, so it’s super versatile from day to night. All pieces will be linked with direct or similar items below.

19 Jul Porto, Portugal

8 hours in a bus later, I have finally arrived in Porto! The city is absolutely beautiful. I have visited a few other cities in Portugal, including the country’s capitol, and Porto has to be my favorite. I think the reason this city is one of my favorites is because:

1) When I visited Porto it was the night of the festival Sao Joao. Sao Joao is said to be one of the liveliest street festivals in Europe. Essentially all of the locals are selling bright colored, plastic hammers on the street for 1 Euro and EVERYONE buys one or two. As the night goes on strangers of all ages hit each other on the head with these little toys, drink lots of Porto wine, and dance to crazy music. It becomes a traditional festival of getting hammered… quite literally & figuratively.

2) The town is full of cool places & stories. While touring Porto with a phenomenal tour guide, I found out some of the coolest things about the city inspired aspects of Harry Potter. JK Rowling lived in Porto during her divorce and mother’s death in the 90s. It has been told that while grieving she received many ideas for her novels around the city. For example: some of the trees came from a central park, the griffins from a fountain, and the capes from some local university students. Rowling also wrote many of her ideas down in one of the world’s most beautiful libraries called Livraria Lello. Tourists can visit Livraria Lello in Porto for 4 Euros.

I’ll leave out the list of travel suggestions for this city because you won’t have any trouble finding the best things to do. Porto is tiny and centered around a river. My only suggestion is that if you do travel here you must take a tour of a Porto winery. The history behind Port wine is mind blowing and there’s not much like it.

Next stop: IBIZA!

14 Jul Barcelona, Spain

Hey babes sorry I’m a bit delayed on posting about my travels, I’ve been so busy over here! On to weekend trip two: Barcelona! Barcelona is the third big city I have visited in Spain and it probably has to be my favorite so far (sorry Madrid, you’re pretty cool too). The city is absolutely gorgeous and the fact that it has an amazing beach right outside of it might have swayed my decision a little bit (a lot). I would definitely add “Barcelona” to anyone’s list of must see cities.

There are so many places to go and things to see in Barcelona. The city is well known for La Sagrada Familia & Park Guell which both I’m sure you’ve heard of. Do I have any loyal 2000’s Cheetah Girl fans reading this? If any of you were crazy fan girls like me, you would probably know that Cheetah Girls 2 was filmed in Barcelona & the Strut music video in Park Guell. I highly recommend checking out the famous basilica & park because there’s honestly nothing like them anywhere else. Gaudi’s designs make both places simply indescribable.

As far as other places to go, I would definitely check out:

The Pier— where you go to see pretty boats & potentially try a water sport.. I’m always a proponent of jet skis

Barceloneta Beach— this place is filled with restaurants & bars on the beach and is always lively. If you like to party this is the perfect place for you—the night really starts around 1 & people will be out until 6 am or so. Opium is a really fun discoteca located on Barceloneta beach.

Las Ramblas— more restaurants & bars but shopping, shopping, shopping

Those are just a few suggestions, but if you go to Barcelona you won’t have any trouble finding fun things to do. There are so many guided tours and excursions available. Even just walking or biking around is tons of fun because the buildings are colorful and uniquely designed. I hit most of the city basics, but I would highly recommend checking out trip advisor for some more excursions if you travel here.
